On Nov. 7, 2016, Life Care Center of Rochester, Indiana, (with the help of Kindred Hospice and the local VFW) honored its veterans.
Residents at the skilled nursing and rehab center who had served in the U.S. armed forces received a certificate and a pin. Kindred Hospice employees read poems about the sacrifice not only of the soldiers but of their families as well. They also played all the military branches’ service songs and taps, in honor of service men and women who have passed away.
“There wasn’t a dry eye in the facility as Kindred and the VFW provided an emotional ceremony about love of country and sacrifice,” said Desiree Godsey, business development director. “Honoring our veterans for their sacrifice is the least we can do as Americans. It is a privilege to recognize those who gave us the freedoms we enjoy today.”
